9. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
The astounding Saleen S7 Twin Turbo was delivered to us by the Saleen Automotive Inc. in 2005. Although the car may be thirteen years old, its speed and design still lists on our top 10 fastest cars in the world. This stunning car was one of the first full proprietary cars and mid-engine production car from America. Generating an incredible 750 horsepower, this American supercar can reach 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, reaching an average speed of 248 mph. The Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is able to maximise its speed through its carbon fibre body and aerodynamic principles. However, speed is not the only luxury element of this incredible supercar; its rich interior adds to the pristine design of this car. Including a combination of leather and aluminium for a rich and luxurious feel, along with the mid-aligned driver seat helping with improved visibility of the driver, perfects the design of this supercar. From the well-known firm Tesla Inc., this supercar has been designed and manufactured to push boundaries on aerodynamics. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, this supercar can reach an incredible speed of 250mph. The original Tesla Roadster was designed as a sports car based on the Lotus Elise. Using the Lotus Elise as a platform, the Roadstar was created to add power and strength to an already beloved car. 7. Koenigsegg Regera
The Koenigsegg Regera is one of the newer supercars to enter the fast car list, released in the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. This limited edition hybrid sports car was gifted to the supercar world by Koenigsegg Automotive. Producing only 80 cars to ensure the car becomes a much wanted collectable, the car was instantly sold out with each unit costing around $1.9 million – equivalent to £1.53 million – at the time. With its rear wheels taking on 2.7 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, the Koenigsegg Regera can reach an astonishing speed of 255mph. The Koenigsegg Regera incorporates the Koenigsegg Direct Drive system which uses new technology to power the car and removes the traditional gearbox. By removing the gearbox, it eliminates the seconds that it takes the vehicle and the driver to change gear, therefore giving the car the ability to reach high speeds quickly. This incredible supercar has a 5.0-litre twin-turbo engine capable of producing 1100 bph. Incorporating this with its lightweight materials maximises its ability to reach high speeds and defy aerodynamics.

6. SSC Ultimate Aero
Despite this car being produced in 2007, it still manages to make its way to number 6. The SSC Ultimate Aero is also known as the Shelby Supercars, quickly becoming one of the fastest performance cars in the world. In 2007, the SSC Ultimate Aero was released, obtaining up to 256 mph and reaching 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. This fantastic fast car includes a twin-turbo V8 engine with a horsepower of 1287. The SS Ultimate Aero is able to reach these speeds due to its carbon fire and titanium body, keeping a balanced weight.

5. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport model is the successor of the amazing Bugatti Chiron Edition. The Veyron was developed after Volkswagen purchased the Bugatti brand, as it the result of Volkswagen attempting to create a more powerful version of a beloved collectable. With the first edition coming with a 1000 horsepower, the car was not going to reach the expectations of Volkswagens aim to make the fastest car in the world. After further developments, 30 unites of the later Veyron Super Sport now comes with a 1200 horsepower. Reaching an incredible 268 mph, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is certainly a supercar we all wish to experience.

4. Hennessey Venom GT
In 2013, the Hennessey Venom GT set a Guinness World Record as the fastest production car. With an average acceleration of 13.63 seconds and a speed of 270 mph, this supercar deserves its title as one of the worlds best. Using a 7.0-litre V8 engine, the Hennessey Venom GT can produce 1244 horsepower. However, with the increasing competition of supercar production, car enthusiasts are still waiting for Hennessey to produce a faster and more futuristic supercar to add to their collections.
